ABOUT

Clyde 2025 is your project. It has no leader, and no purpose apart from that which you give it. No one will ask you to donate any money, no government is involved, no grants are available, this is about you – this is your chance to break free of the past and create a better life for yourself, your fellow humans, and all the other inhabitants of the Clyde. How you choose to do it is up to you.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Clyde 2025 is for anyone who lives in and around The firth and river, From Arran, up to Bute, Greenock, Glasgow City, and Eastwards towards Lanark, and rising to the Lowther Hills.

That is a population of over a million people!

A million different minds – a million different ideas – a million different opinions – all bound by the River Clyde, which flows, without judgement, every second of the day, silently through all these million thoughts, actions and consequences…witnessed by the ancient goddess Clota, ruler of the waves.

MYTHOLOGY

Although not a lot is known about the Goddess Clota, her beauty is renowned, as is her power. Whether you believe in myths is up to you, but working in service in the name of Clota has been known to create a better more harmonious life to all who utter the words

IN NOMINE CLOTAE SERVIAM (From the Latin, meaning “In the name of Clota, I will Serve”)

Myths are just that, but who knows! I for one, do not want to encounter her wrath, which is almost as famed as her beauty – from sinking ships, to creating misfortune for sailors, and those who poison her waters, and creating illness and madness for those who take her creatures from the river and sea…

The goddess Clota may indeed be a myth, but it is evident in the firth and river that violence, drunkenness, drug addiction, poverty, homelessness, greed, apathy, ignorance, murder, criminality, pollution, corruption, litter, that she may be showing her displeasure… It is up to you to decide whether she is real or not, but what is clear is that a shift in human thinking is necessary whether you are a child, a parent, a criminal, a politician, a drunk, or addict, banker, or CEO. All is connected to the Clyde.
